XALEM is a solo trans non-binary electronic music artist who started creating EDM in June of 2022. Although newer to the electronic scene, XALEM has been creating their own music for over a decade and has dreamed of being successful in music their entire life.

In 2017, they graduated from Full Sail University and hold a bachelor's degree in music production. Since then, they have been indecisive on which direction of music composition and audio engineering to pursue, but inspiration sparked when they watched a live stream of EDC in May of 2022 and knew that they wanted to create electronic music and eventually preform as a DJ. They started to craft their distinctive sound, primarily in the techno and house sub genres of EDM influenced by 80s synth wave.

The artist name "XALEM" is a portmanteau of their first and middle name which they had legally changed to match their gender identity in early 2023.
